Celebrating What God is Doing at Bayside Orange County: A Testament to Partnership and Purpose

At National Covenant Properties we are honored to walk alongside churches like Bayside Church Orange County (OC), helping turn visionary ministry goals into tangible realities. In 2021, Bayside Covenant Church, based in the Sacramento area, decided to start a new campus in the Orange County area which is about 400 miles away from its main campus. It was a bold but very intentional initiative that is making a difference in Southern California. Having rented space for three years, the leadership voted to acquire a non-typical church facility in an industrial business park adjacent to John Wayne Airport. In the past six months since Bayside OC moved into their new permanent facility, the impact has been nothing short of transformative—for their staff, congregation, and, most importantly, the wider community of Costa Mesa, California.

Ministry Every Day of the Week

Previously limited to Sunday-only gatherings, Bayside OC now operates ministries seven days a week. With 17,000 square feet of purposeful, well-lit space, they’ve moved from a single shared office room in a basement to a dynamic campus designed for vibrant ministry. Their children’s wing, for example, now eliminates the weekly setup/teardown routine, signaling to families and volunteers alike that this church is here to stay—and they’re investing deeply in the next generation.

From Hidden to Seen: Literally on the Map

The visibility and accessibility of the new building have opened incredible doors. Residents from nearby apartments have walked in, discovering a church they once knew in Northern California, now planted just across the street. Individuals from vulnerable backgrounds have found pathways to help and hope, with Bayside serving as a bridge to organizations like the Orange County Rescue Mission. Local Christian groups are reaching out, drawn by the facility’s presence and the church’s passion. Bayside OC has become a beacon—visibly and spiritually—along the Costa Mesa freeway.

Impact of Ownership: Stability and Strategy

Ownership has changed everything” said Pastor of Ministry Development, Isabelle McCourt. No more scrambling for event setups or making do with limited space. Buyside’s team can now focus on strategic ministry planning, volunteer training, and meaningful discipleship. Small groups meet throughout the week. Young adults and youth gather in welcoming environments. Children have indoor and outdoor areas to engage and grow. Ministry is no longer a dream postponed—it is an everyday reality.

A Grand Opening, Grand Vision

The move-in coincided with the Christmas season, and the celebrations didn’t stop there. Bayside OC launched a seven-week Grand Opening campaign, filled with vision casting, outreach events, and gospel-centered messages. This season helped them build incredible momentum, culminating in the addition of a second Sunday service in January, which has allowed Bayside OC to rapidly double its attendance. The extra service provides space to grow and creates more opportunities for people to invite friends and family into the life of the church.

Community Connections That Matter

One of the most powerful moments of the Grand Opening was the ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by the mayor of Costa Mesa. As he joined in worship and celebration, Bayside began meaningful conversations about partnerships with the city. This embodies their mission to “Reach Wide” and “Unleash Compassion,” values that now have a home base to operate from.

Volunteers: The Heartbeat of Bayside

Launching a new building also meant launching a fresh call for volunteers. Bayside OC’s “Join the Team” initiative invites people of all ages to invest in the future of the church. From hosting to teaching, every volunteer is shaping a legacy of faith that will ripple through generations. There’s a strong sense of ownership and joy among those who are helping build this new chapter.

A Strategic and Spiritual Investment

When Bayside OC stood at a critical crossroads in their church plant journey, National Covenant Properties (NCP) had the privilege to step in—not only with financial solutions but with strategic guidance. “From navigating purchase negotiations to fast-tracking appraisals and loan disbursements, the NCP team was deeply involved in making this dream a reality” said lead pastor, Andrew McCourt. NCP was blessed to join Bayside OC for their Grand Opening, and we continue to pray and cheer them on as they build on the strong foundation God has laid.

At NCP, we don’t just fund building projects—we empower ministry. Bayside OC is a living testimony of what can happen when vision meets partnership, and faith meets action.
