5-Year Fixed Rate Renewable Certificate

IRAs and HSAs

We offer a number of IRA options for your personal retirement needs. Health Savings Accounts provide a tax advantage to offset health care expenses.

HSAs

  • In an effort to combat rising medical costs, Congress created HSAs to provide consumers an incentive to pay “first-dollar” medical expenses. HSAs are IRA-like accounts designed exclusively for covering medical expenses.
  • To be eligible, an individual must be covered by a high deductible health plan (HDHP) and not enrolled for benefits under Medicare (generally not yet age 65). Contact your health plan administrator to see if your health plan qualifies as an HDHP.
  • Are you a church that wants to contribute to an HSA for your pastor or other staff? We can help staff open an HSA with NCP, and the church can contribute. Contact our team by email or at (800) 366-6273.
  • As with all NCP investment accounts, we do not charge any fees for IRA and HSA accounts.

HSA Tax benefits include the following:

  • Contributions are excluded from income
  • Earnings are tax-deferred
  • If used for qualified medical expenses, distributions are never taxed
  • Unused assets may be used for retirement at or after age 65. If not used for medical expenses, regular distributions will be subject to income tax
  • Assets are subject to a 10% penalty if withdrawn before age 65 for non-medical expense purposes and are subject to income tax
  • Upon death, assets are transferred to your named beneficiaries; if no beneficiary is named, assets become a part of your estate

*Variable Rate Certificates are available for investment solely by current holders of a Variable Rate Certificate

The Variable Rate Certificates, Demand Investment Certificates, Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Certificates, and Health Savings Account (HSA) Certificates are not available for sale to investors residing in South Carolina. The Variable Rate Certificates and Demand Investment Certificates are not available for sale to investors residing in Louisiana. NCP’s Certificates are not insured by any governmental agency or private insurance company, including the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or any state bank, insurance fund, or any other governmental agency.
